SCSD Superintendent Update COVID-10 - March 24

The County Health Officer posted another statement yesterday, March 23. I suggest you read it. Dr. Morrow strongly encourages community members to stay in their homes with your own family unit, stay in your own neighborhood, and vigilantly minimize person-to-person contact outside of the home. The statement also encourages volunteering and donating to help address the hardships caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

Check in each day via the attendance form located on your school's grade level page. SCSD is obligated by the state of California to continue to track student “attendance.”

Although our educational efforts are considered essential services, we are effectively closing our campuses to both students and staff starting March 17. Superintendent Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

With guidance from our School Board, based on learning that the San Mateo County Health Department Officer Dr. Scott Morrow has issued an order to dismiss students in San Mateo County from regular attendance at school from March 16 - April 3, 2020 we will move to a distance learning model beginning on Monday, March 16, as anticipated. In-person classes are suspended as of March 16. All school-run events and activities are cancelled indefinitely including after school sports.

Pajama Drive

Help all children get a good night’s sleep. Donate new or clean, gently used children’s pajamas, new children’s socks, toothpaste and/or toothbrushes through Monday, March 16th. Donations will go to the Samaritan House where they lead the fight against poverty in San Mateo.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to build community while supporting our students. There are a lot of options - some bigger and some smaller - some during school hours and many that can be done from home. We have multiple one time events this month which could use your help too: the Science Festival, Ability Awareness Week and at the Book Fair!

BA Movie Night- Friday, January 24- 6:30 pm

Toy Story 4 will be playing at the BA movie night on Friday, January 24th. Please note the updated start time is now 6:30pm! This fun event allows families to enjoy a movie and snacks together in the BA MU. Bring sleeping bags, pillows and water bottles for a comfortable movie watching experience. Please note, this is not a drop-off event.
