OVERVIEW The Brittan Acres Walk-A-Jog (WAJ) is a wonderful tradition dating back 35 years and our biggest community event of the year. This is a fantastic event for the whole family! The students run, jog or walk around the BA blacktop, which provides a unique opportunity for the school community to gather while exercising and spending quality time together. Join friends and families for a casual carnival with food and games. We hope every BA student can participate!
REGISTRATION Online event registration is open! Student participant t-shirts are FREE and worn to school the Friday before WAJ (wear them Friday April 21)! To receive a t-shirt, be sure to order your student's size during the registration process, by the Monday March 27th deadline.. Registration will all be done through the BAPTAEZ site, your one-stop shop for all things Brittan Acres.
To register, follow the steps below.
  • STEP 1: Go to and Login to Purchase. This is the same login you use for this site for PTA, spirit wear, etc.
  • STEP 2: Select Walk-a-Jog Registration from “Product Categories” and click view details.
  • STEP 3: Fill out the required registration options with your student’s name, classroom, and shirt size.
  • STEP 4: Please order your t-shirt, carnival wristbands and BBQ meals for the entire family at this time.
  • STEP 5: Check the waiver box as part of the registration.
  • STEP 6: Add to cart and checkout
Registration deadline is Monday, 3/27/2023. If you prefer to register on paper, pick up a form in the school office or contact [email protected] and return it by the 3/27 deadline.
  • Thursday, April 20 - Walk-A-Jog bags with all WAJ items go home with students.
  • Friday, April 21 - Students are encouraged to wear their Walk-A-Jog t-shirts to school!
  • Sunday, April 23
    • 10:00 am Gates open! Come enjoy carnival games and the bake sale
    • 10:30 am - 10:50 am TK and Kindergarten Run Time
    • 11:00 am - 11:30 am Grades 1 and 2 Run Time
    • 11:45 am - 12:15 pm Grades 3 Run Time
    • 11:30 pm - 12:45 pm BBQ serving lunch 1 pm Carnival concludes
GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION The event begins at 10:00 a.m. on the upper playground of Brittan Acres Elementary School. Enter through the Tamarack Ave gate entrance. This is not a drop-off event. A parent or guardian must be at the school the entire time your student is present. Participating students should wear their Walk-A-Jog t-shirt and bring their water bottle. Each grade will walk or jog around a marked path on the playground for a set time. Not all grades will walk at the same time. After completing each lap, an event volunteer will mark the lap as completed on the back of the student’s t-shirt; for each lap completed, students will earn 1 ticket that can be redeemed at the prize booth for a fun prize!. This event is open to the public and students are encouraged to bring friends and family with them to enjoy a fun day with the Brittan Acres community.
CARNIVAL AND BBQ While different grade levels are running or walking, students and families can enjoy the carnival games, inflatables, bake sale, rock wall, and face painting located all around the upper playground. Kids will win tickets and redeem prizes as they play the carnival games.If you did not pre-register for the event, you can still get a carnival wristband the day of WAJ. . The carnival will stay open until 1 p.m.
Plan to come hungry for the BBQ lunch. Please buy your BBQ tickets ahead of time to help us plan for food.
It takes a village to run this fun event! Please find a way to volunteer. We need folks to help with the BBQ, Carnival games, checking off laps for the students while they run, etc. Please keep an eye out for upcoming BA Blasts and please volunteer. If you want to take on a leadership role, please reach out to us and we can share more about what we need! All help is welcome.
